Nam Douglass becomes Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm’s sixth Partner

Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm is pleased to announce that Nam Douglass has been promoted to Partner.

Douglass originally joined the Firm in 2021 as a Senior Associate Attorney, assisting corporate clients with nonimmigrant visa petitions, green card applications, student visas, the PERM process and other complex immigration matters.

“I am honored to become a partner at Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm,” Douglass said. “Taking on this new role is a responsibility I’m privileged to embrace. I look forward to contributing to the Firm’s continued growth and success while delivering exceptional value and service to our clients.”

Douglass has practiced since 2011 and is one of a limited number of attorneys certified as a Specialist in Immigration Law by the North Carolina State Bar, the highest level of accreditation available in the state. She has previously been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® and Business North Carolina Legal Elite. Further, Douglass also serves in leadership roles in both the American Immigration Lawyers Association (Executive Committee Member, Carolinas Chapter) and the Mecklenburg Bar Association (Bar Leadership Institute Committee) and as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, the Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University.

Before her career in law, Douglass worked in policy and rural economic development for more than a decade with nonprofit organizations across North Carolina.

“Since joining Garfinkel Immigration, Nam has not only established herself as a firm leader with exceptional legal expertise, but she has also offered a unique perspective based on her prior professional experiences,” Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm Managing Partner Hannah F. Little said.  “Nam has made significant contributions to the firm’s business development strategy, summer clerk program and has further established herself as a leader in the field through her teaching engagement and leadership roles.”

Douglass became Garfinkel Immigration’s sixth Partner, joining Little, Founder Steven H. Garfinkel, as well as Meredith W. Barnette, William R. Hummel and Colleen F. Molner.

“We are grateful for Nam’s passion and dedication to the field, as well as her standards of excellence in representation,” Little said. “As Partner, we are confident she will continue to lead with insight, integrity and professionalism, further contributing to the firm’s long-term success.”
