The final webinar in Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm’s “Immigration Solutions for Healthcare Workers” series will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from noon – 1 p.m.
The webinar will be hosted by Partners Meredith W. Barnette and Colleen F. Molner and is entitled “But I Don’t Want to go Home!” Waiving the Home Residency Requirement (Conrad 30 J-1 Waivers and More). The presentation is intended for physicians, managers, employers and other J-1 visa holders in the healthcare industry.
“Many healthcare workers, such as physicians, first enter the U.S. on a J-1 visa for training and are subsequently faced with the two-year home residency requirement before they are eligible to change to another visa status or apply for a green card,” Molner said. “Our webinar will discuss creative and timely strategies for J-1 visa holders to obtain a waiver of the home residency requirement.”
Barnette and Molner have practiced immigration law for almost 30 years, combined, and both have extensive experience leveraging creative approaches to provide insight and legal advice to healthcare professionals.
Molner is certified as a Specialist in Immigration Law by the North Carolina State Bar, the highest level of specialization attainable in the state, and has previously been recognized by Business North Carolina (BNC) Legal Elite, Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America, Who’s Who Legal as well as Super Lawyers.
Barnette regularly prepares nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and manages Garfinkel’s EB-5 practice. She has recently been honored by The Best Lawyers in America© and for her pro bono work.
