Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm has selected the Charlotte Bilingual Preschool and Roof Above as the beneficiaries of its Charitable Fund in 2022.
Garfinkel Immigration created the fund five years ago, in commemoration of its 20th anniversary, to return a portion of its profits to the community. The Fund contributes to nonprofit organizations in the Charlotte region that empower economically marginalized and vulnerable people while supporting pluralism and embracing multiculturalism.
The Charlotte Bilingual Preschool aims to prepare “Spanish-speaking children for success in school and life by providing superior dual language, multi-cultural early childhood education.” The organization offers “the only 5-star licensed dual language preschool program” in North Carolina, according to its website, and also provides on-site bilingual occupational therapy, speech therapy and family counseling.
Likewise, Roof Above’s mission is to “unite the community to end homelessness, one life at a time.” The nonprofit provides a range of services, which include street outreach, day services, emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing, throughout the local area.
In total, Roof Above assists approximately 1,200 people per day in Charlotte “experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty,” according to its website.
In addition to the annual Charitable Fund, Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm also offers an Employer Matching Gift Fund. This Fund was designed to encourage employees to donate to qualifying charitable organizations and matches personal individual contributions, dollar for dollar, throughout the year.
