Four Garfinkel Immigration attorneys have been recognized in the latest edition of The Best Lawyers in America©.
Co-Managing Partners Steven H. Garfinkel and Hannah F. Little as well as Partners Meredith W. Barnette and William R. Hummel were all honored in the 2022 publication.
Little was also named the 2022 Best Lawyers® Immigration Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Charlotte. The prestigious award is presented annually to the attorney who receives the highest overall feedback from peers in a specific practice area and region. Only one lawyer is recognized as the “Lawyer of the Year” for each specialty and location.
The four honorees have been practicing immigration law for more than 70 years, combined.
Garfinkel founded the Firm in 1997. He is nationally recognized and has been rated by his peers with an AV® Peer Review Rating and is listed in the International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers.
Little has been honored by The Best Lawyers in America© for five straight years. She was also recently recognized in the latest edition of Super Lawyers and named to the Business North Carolina (BNC) 2021 Legal Elite list.
Barnette manages the firm’s EB-5 practice and has significant experience with the preparation of nonimmigrant visa petitions as well as the PERM process for lawful permanent residence.
Meanwhile, 2022 marks the first time Hummel has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America©. He represents employers, entrepreneurs and employees in a variety of industries including financial services, education, specialty chemical, biomedical research and technology.
Garfinkel, Little and Hummel are all also certified as Specialists in Immigration Law by the North Carolina State Bar.
Best Lawyers® was first published in 1983. The organization’s “methodology is designed to capture, as accurately as possible, the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical area and legal practice area,” according to its website.
