Three Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm attorneys have been recognized in the latest edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in the field of immigration law.
Founding Partner Steven Garfinkel, Managing Partner Hannah Little and Partner Meredith Barnette all were honored in the 2021 publication, which is “based entirely on peer review,” according to the organization’s website.
Additionally, Garfinkel was named the Best Lawyers® 2021 Immigration Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Charlotte, an award that is received only by the individual attorney with the highest overall peer-feedback in their specific practice area and geographic region.
Garfinkel, who founded the Firm in 1997, has been practicing U.S. Immigration Law for more than 35 years. He is one of a limited number of attorneys certified as a Specialist in Immigration Law by the North Carolina State Bar and is a Past Chair of the Immigration Specialization Committee.
Little is also certified as a Specialist in Immigration Law by the North Carolina State Bar and was initially recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© in 2017.
She represents employers and employees in a variety of industries including energy, manufacturing, information technology and specialty chemical and has extensive experience in the preparation of L-1 intracompany transfer petitions, H-1B specialty occupation petitions as well as other nonimmigrant work visa options.
Meanwhile, 2021 marks the first time Barnette has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America©. She manages the firm’s EB-5 practice and has significant experience with preparation of nonimmigrant visa petitions as well as the PERM process for lawful permanent residence.
Best Lawyers© was first published in 1983. More than 9.4 million votes were analyzed for the 2021 edition of the publication, according to the organization’s website, and “lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed.”
