Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm continues to expand.
Nick Harling and Sheila Sheng both joined the firm in September, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and invaluable resources to current and future clients.
“We are very excited that Nick and Sheila have decided to join Garfinkel Immigration,” co-Managing Partner Steve Garfinkel said. “Their expertise and extensive experience will increase our already exceptional level of service to clients across numerous industries.
“Nick and Sheila are both a natural fit for the firm with outstanding academic achievement, impeccable legal credentials, proven leadership and a commitment to quality service for our clients.”
Harling comes to GILF from the Department of Justice, where he gained a deep understanding of United States’ immigration laws while litigating a wide range of issues on behalf of the federal government.
Now in private practice, Harling draws on that experience to help clients whose visa petitions have been arbitrarily denied or unreasonably delayed. He also represents clients who are subject to government employment investigations, such as I-9 audits.
“I am excited to join Garfinkel Immigration and represent its wide range of clients,” Harling said. “I’ve loved my short time here so far and look forward to the future.”
Sheng, meanwhile, recently graduated from the University of North Carolina, School of Law, where she served as a research assistant for Professor Catherine Y. Kim and helped draft an Amicus Brief on President Donald Trump’s Travel Ban.
Sheng, a native Mandarin speaker, grew up in Beijing, China and is also a member of the Chinese National Bar Association as well as the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
“Garfinkel Immigration has amazed me by its professionalism, diversity and kindness,” Sheng said. “The firm is made up of hard-working people with diverse backgrounds from all over the world who deeply care about societal issues and are always willing to help out. I’ve felt nothing but inspiration every day since I joined.”
Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm now has 10 attorneys and more than 30 experienced paralegals.
